A Stockton neighborhood with a long history of resilience is getting a special boost this Thanksgiving. Vice Mayor Jason Lee will join the Sierra Vista Resident Council on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, for their beloved Annual Thanksgiving Giveaway — and he’s bringing a meaningful gift with him.
To ensure families across Sierra Vista and South Stockton can gather around a warm holiday meal, the Vice Mayor is donating $5,000 to community leader Georgia Brown Lee and the Sierra Vista Resident Council. The contribution will help purchase turkeys and essential holiday groceries for hundreds of local households.
This cherished event, located at 1602 E. 11th Street, is more than a food distribution day — it’s a neighborhood tradition built on unity, compassion, and community pride. Supported by RSSC, the Stockton Housing Justice Coalition, the Housing Authority of San Joaquin County, and the City of Stockton, the giveaway uplifts families during a season when support means the most.
“Sierra Vista raised me.” — Vice Mayor Jason Lee
In a heartfelt statement, Vice Mayor Lee reflected on the deep personal connection that fuels his commitment:
“Sierra Vista raised me, grounded me, and continues to inspire the work I do every day. Giving $5,000 toward Thanksgiving meals is just one way for me to give back to the families who pour so much love and resilience into Stockton. No family should go without a holiday meal, and I’m committed to doing my part.”
A Gathering of Neighbors, Leaders, and Generosity
The giveaway offers powerful visuals of the community coming together — volunteers handing out holiday food, families picking up meals with gratitude, and local leaders standing alongside residents to strengthen long-standing bonds.
