Stockton’s waterfront will come alive with vintage charm, family fun and community spirit when the 8th Annual Runabouts on the River returns Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stockton Sailing Club.

Presented by the Antique and Classic Boat Society NorCal/Lake Tahoe chapter, the popular event celebrates classic boating and automotive culture with one of the largest collections of classic boats on the West Coast. Guests can enjoy free admission, complimentary boat rides on the San Joaquin River, classic cars, hot rods, modern performance cars, vendors, live music and activities for children.

A special new feature this year will give visitors the chance to ride aboard a historic former U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Boat, piloted by Captain John Garza of Pacific Coast Water Rescue.

Runabouts on the River has become a favorite Stockton tradition because it offers something for all ages. Boat enthusiasts can admire beautifully restored vessels, car lovers can explore an impressive lineup of classic and performance vehicles, and families can spend the day enjoying food, drinks, music and hands-on activities along the river.

The Sailing Science Center will also provide interactive learning experiences designed for both children and adults, making the event not only fun but educational. Guests can also look forward to live demonstrations from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s firefighting boat, along with water rescue demonstrations by Pacific Coast Water Rescue.

Beyond the celebration, Runabouts on the River supports important local programs. Proceeds benefit the Stockton Sailing Club Youth Sailing Program, the Sea Scouts, and the Stockton Maritime Museum’s efforts to showcase the USS Lucid on downtown Stockton’s waterfront. Funds also help the Antique and Classic Boat Society continue offering community programming throughout the region.

Sponsorship opportunities and vendor spaces are still available. Community members interested in registering a car or boat, becoming a sponsor, or learning more about vendor opportunities can visit acbsrotr.com.

The ACBS NorCal/Lake Tahoe chapter is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration and education of antique and classic boats. Through events like Runabouts on the River, the organization helps keep maritime history alive while bringing people together for a memorable day on the water.

With free admission, free boat rides and a full day of entertainment, Runabouts on the River offers Stockton families a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the San Joaquin River while celebrating the region’s boating, automotive and community heritage.
