Macierz, Laskosky Pick Up NorPac West Honors

The NorPac Field Hockey conference announced the NorPac West Player of the Week Awards for the week of September 16th to September 22nd. A pair of Tigers picked up plaudits. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Molly Macierz (Los Gatos, Calif.) was named NorPac West Defensive Player of the Week while freshman forward Nicole Laskosky (Camrose, Alberta, Canada) was honored as NorPac West Rookie of the Week.

Macierz played valiantly in goal in the Tigers four games in Philadelphia, making 25 saves.

Pacific squeaked by Saint Joseph's and LaSalle, as Macierz made 10 saves while playing all 94 plus minutes in the Orange and Black's thrilling double overtime victory over the Hawks. Macierz allowed just one goal to LaSalle the following day, stopping seven shots as the Tigers prevailed 2-1 in regulation.

NorPac West Rookie of the Week honors, reserved for true freshman playing their first year in the conference, went to Nicole Laskosky. Laskosky, who had an assist on senior Melissa Maultsby's goal that opened up the scoring against Saint Joseph's.  Laskosky leads Pacific's true freshman with three points on the year to date.

Pacific will open NorPac conference play on September 27th at California on Maxwell Family Field in Berkeley. The Friday contest will begin at 7pm. On Sunday, September 29th Pacific will return to Maxwell Family Field for a designated home game against California. The 12pm game will be telecast  on the Pac-12 Networks.
