Arena Football Returns to Stockton with the Launch of the Stockton Crusaders

Professional arena football is making its way back to Stockton, bringing with it the speed, energy, and hard-hitting excitement that once helped make the sport a fan favorite in the 209.

The Stockton Crusaders will be formally introduced during a public press conference on Wednesday, June 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Adventist Health Arena. The event will bring together city officials, arena leadership, team representatives, and fans as Stockton celebrates the return of professional arena football for the first time since 2015.

For local sports fans, the announcement marks more than the arrival of a new team. It represents the return of a high-energy game known for its nonstop action, close-up fan experience, and electric indoor atmosphere. Arena football has long been a sport built on intensity, community pride, and crowd participation — all qualities that fit Stockton well.

Jason Perry, Legends Global Regional General Manager, said the return of arena football is an exciting opportunity for both fans and the city.

“The return of arena football after more than a decade away is incredibly exciting,” Perry said. “Arena football has always delivered a unique, fast-paced experience that brings fans closer to the action than almost any other sport.”

Perry also noted that the Crusaders will help showcase Adventist Health Arena as a year-round destination for sports and entertainment in downtown Stockton.

Mayor Christina Fugazi welcomed the team with enthusiasm, calling the Crusaders a new source of pride and excitement for the community.

“Stockton is ready for arena football,” Fugazi said. “We are a city that knows how to fight for every yard.”

The Crusaders’ arrival adds another chapter to Stockton’s growing sports story. Adventist Health Arena, located in the heart of downtown, is already home to the NBA G League’s Stockton Kings and has hosted concerts, family shows, community events, and major entertainment productions. With a seating capacity of more than 10,000, the venue is positioned to give arena football fans a lively, up-close experience.

The return of arena football also brings new energy to downtown Stockton, where sports and entertainment continue to play an important role in bringing residents together. From families looking for an affordable night out to longtime fans eager to see the sport return, the Stockton Crusaders are expected to bring a fresh sense of excitement to the local sports scene.

The June 10 announcement is open to the public and serves as the official kickoff for the Crusaders’ arrival in Stockton.

With passionate fans, a proud sports tradition, and a premier venue ready to welcome the action, the Stockton Crusaders are preparing to bring arena football back home to the 209.
