One day after jazz and R&B take over Weber Point, Stockton's waterfront will be filled with a different sound: gospel.
Gospel on the Water Festival returns to Weber Point Events Center on Sunday, September 13, 2026, bringing together nationally recognized gospel performers for an afternoon and evening of music, faith and community.
The festival will feature performances by Le'Andria Johnson, Beverly Crawford and Zacardi Cortez. Doors open at noon, with performances beginning at 2 p.m. The overall event is scheduled through approximately 8 p.m.
Johnson brings one of contemporary gospel's most recognizable voices to Stockton. Her powerful, emotionally direct singing has made her a prominent figure in modern gospel music, and she will be joined by veteran gospel singer Beverly Crawford and celebrated vocalist Zacardi Cortez.
Together, the performers give Stockton audiences an opportunity to experience several distinctive gospel voices during a single outdoor festival.
But Gospel on the Water is more than another concert on the calendar.
Gospel music has long played an important role in African American churches and communities, connecting faith, music, family and shared experience. Bringing that tradition into a large outdoor public setting allows the celebration to extend beyond church walls and welcome people from throughout Stockton and the surrounding region.
That sense of community should fit naturally at Weber Point, where large open lawns and the downtown waterfront create an atmosphere very different from a traditional indoor concert hall.
The festival also creates an unusual back-to-back weekend for Stockton music fans. The 4th Annual Jazz on the Water Festival takes place at Weber Point the day before, turning September 12 and 13 into two consecutive days of nationally recognized live music downtown.
