From the ice rinks of Stockton to the national spotlight, Linden’s own Brooke Bryant is skating home with history in tow. On Wednesday, July 23 at 10:45 a.m., Bryant will return to Oak Park Ice Rink, proudly carrying the Walter Cup—the ultimate prize in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).
Born in Stockton and raised in Linden, Bryant’s roots run deep. She sharpened her skills on the ice with the Stockton Colts boys' team, then rose through the ranks with the Anaheim Lady Ducks and Linden High School, blazing a trail all the way to Minnesota State University. Her fierce talent and relentless drive earned her a spot with PWHL Minnesota, where she made history as the first California-raised player in the league.
Now a two-time Walter Cup champion (2024 and 2025), Bryant has become a rising star in professional women’s hockey—and a symbol of what's possible for young athletes from the Central Valley. The Walter Cup, created by Tiffany & Co., represents a powerful new chapter in the sport and celebrates the vision of philanthropists Mark and Kimbra Walter.
Don’t miss your chance to meet a champion! Fans of all ages are invited to Oak Park Ice Rink on July 23 at 10:45 a.m. for a free meet-and-greet with Brooke Bryant and a rare up-close look at the Walter Cup.
