The drama is building at Stockton 99 Speedway as the 76th season charges into its final stretch. With only four race nights left, local fans are in for a high-stakes showdown this Saturday, September 6, when the Stockton Late Models headline an action-packed evening of racing.

At the center of attention are two familiar names: Escalon’s Sammy Solari and Stockton’s own JoJo Stearns. Both are chasing their second Stockton Late Model title, and the rivalry is heating up. Stearns took the last win, but Solari still holds a slim 13-point lead heading into Saturday’s clash.

“This is what racing in Stockton is all about,” one longtime fan shared. “Hometown heroes going head-to-head for the championship.”

Rising Stars Across Divisions

The excitement doesn’t stop there. Stockton driver Kayci Phillips, daughter of 2007 ARCA Menards West champion Mike David, leads the Legends of 99 by 17 points, aiming to secure her first career track title.

In the Nor Cal Mini Stocks, Stockton’s Ethan Rumsey has a 21-point edge over fellow local Natalie Harper, but Manteca’s Joe Flowers recently ended Rumsey’s three-race win streak, proving the title is still up for grabs.

Over in Pure Stock, Valley Springs’ Donnie Darter has six wins this season, but Stockton’s Mason Beghtel is only four points behind. And in the Fast Kar Solutions Mini Modifieds, Fresno’s Patrick Geiger has been the one to beat, leading the standings with six feature wins.
