Hockey Is Back in Stockton: New Professional Team Set to Call Adventist Health Arena Home

Stockton hockey fans, it is time to get excited.

After years of waiting, hoping, and asking for the sport’s return, professional hockey is officially coming back to Adventist Health Arena. A new team is preparing to make Stockton its home this fall, bringing back the fast-paced action, family fun, and electric game-night energy that local fans have been missing.

The public is invited to be part of the big announcement on Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Adventist Health Arena, where city officials, arena management, and team leadership will formally introduce the new franchise. The event will include key details about the team’s ownership, league affiliation, and plans leading up to the inaugural season this October.

Fans who attend will also have the opportunity to sign up for season ticket information, learn about partnership opportunities, and purchase exclusive inaugural merchandise. The launch will also include a community-focused “Name the Team” campaign, giving Stockton fans a chance to help shape the identity of the new franchise.

For many in the community, this announcement is about more than hockey. It is about bringing people back together at one of Stockton’s most recognizable venues.

“We’re thrilled to reintroduce professional hockey to Stockton and to once again fill the Adventist Health Arena with the energy and excitement this sport brings,” said Jason Perry, Legends Global Regional General Manager. “This is about more than games on the ice, it’s about creating moments for families, fans, and our entire community to come together.”

Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi also celebrated the announcement, saying the return of hockey is a response to what fans throughout the community have been asking for.

“Your voices have been heard, and your prayers have been answered,” Fugazi said. “The ice is coming back, the fans are coming back, and Stockton hockey is back where it belongs.”

The new organization is also expected to invest in youth and amateur hockey development programs, along with opportunities for local businesses through partnerships and community activations.

Adventist Health Arena has long been one of Stockton’s premier gathering places, hosting concerts, family shows, community events, and sports. With a seating capacity of more than 10,000, the arena is ready to welcome fans back for another chapter in Stockton’s hockey history.

The May 13 press conference is open to the public and marks the official kickoff of what promises to be an exciting new era for local sports.

Get ready, Stockton. Hockey is back, and the puck is about to drop once again.
