Thrills, Titles, and Checkered Flags — Championship Night Set to Ignite Stockton 99 Speedway!

The roar of engines, the smell of rubber, and the pulse of adrenaline will all come together this Saturday night as Stockton 99 Speedway hosts Championship Night One, the long-awaited showdown to crown the season’s champions.

For local race fans, it’s not just another Saturday — it’s the culmination of months of fierce rivalries, family legacies, and high-speed drama on one of California’s most storied short tracks.

Local Heroes Chasing Glory

Kayci Phillips of Stockton, daughter of ARCA champion Mike David, is within striking distance of her first-ever track title in the Legends of 99 division. But with double points on the line, the championship is anything but locked. Nipping at her heels is defending feature winner Wyatt Sansom, ready to make it a photo finish to remember.

Over in the Pro Late Model series, Henk Gaalswyk of Ripon is carrying the family torch. The third-generation racer — whose uncle John Gaalswyk captured the 1999 Stockton Late Model title — could secure his first championship this weekend. Last year, Henk celebrated his maiden victory at this very event. This year, he’s chasing the crown.

The Battle Lines Are Drawn

Stockton’s Mason Beghtel looks to seal his first-ever track title in the Pure Stock division but faces tough pressure from Sam Reynolds of Lockeford, who’s hungry for an upset.

Meanwhile, in the Nor Cal Mini Stocks, local favorite Ethan Rumsey has been in unstoppable form — scoring eight wins in the last eleven races with a jaw-dropping average finish of 1.45.

But the Fast Kar Solutions Mini Modifieds could steal the show, with only 15 points separating Fresno’s Patrick Geiger and Modesto’s Freddy Irvin in a high-stakes duel for both the checkered flag and the championship trophy. Their final battle will carry over to the October 18 season finale, where every lap will count.
