Stockton’s own San Joaquin Delta College is rolling out the black and gold carpet for one of its biggest celebrations of the year. On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Delta College Foundation will host its fourth annual “Black & Gold” Gala — an elegant evening designed to bring the community together in support of students, scholarships, and programs that change lives.

The evening kicks off with a lively reception at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner and inspiring program at 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy stories of resilience and achievement as students, alumni, and faculty take center stage to share how Delta College has opened doors to opportunity.

“This event is a special opportunity to celebrate the positive impact our community has on our students,” said Joseph Feneck, Delta College Foundation Executive Director. “We are so proud of our students and deeply grateful for the ongoing support from our community. Every dollar raised makes a real difference in lives right here in Stockton.”

Why It Matters

Delta College isn’t just a place of learning — it’s a powerhouse for our local economy. The College generates an estimated $572 million annually in economic impact. For every $1 invested, society gains nearly $9 in benefits. And with dozens of programs leading to high-paying jobs in growing industries — including Delta’s one-of-a-kind electron microscopy program (the only one at any U.S. community college) — the return on investment is life-changing for students and their families.

This year’s Black & Gold Gala promises an unforgettable night of community pride, elegant dining, and a chance to invest in the future of San Joaquin County.
