After two years of transformative renovations, Delta College is preparing to reopen the Chase Chevrolet Athletic Complex this Saturday, Nov. 8, unveiling a new era of first-class fields and facilities for its student-athletes.

The community is invited to join Delta College leaders, athletes, and supporters for a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12 p.m., followed by the Mustangs’ Sophomore Day football game kicking off at 1 p.m.

The ambitious project brings sweeping upgrades across the athletics footprint: brand-new football, softball, and baseball fields, as well as a fully resurfaced track designed to meet the needs of competitive athletes. The improvements reflect Delta’s ongoing commitment to excellence in sports and academics, aligning with the college’s history as one of California’s top-performing community colleges.

For Delta’s student-athletes—who consistently maintain above-average GPAs and transfer rates—these facilities represent far more than updated turf or fresh paint. They are a visible investment in their hard work, their futures, and their Mustang pride.

College officials say the revitalized complex stands as a testament to the strength and generosity of the Stockton community. Funding was made possible through Measure L, a $250 million bond approved by local voters in 2004. Their support has now culminated in athletic spaces that will serve today’s students and generations to come.

As the gates reopen, the excitement is palpable: athletes returning to fields that finally match their ambition, coaches stepping onto surfaces built for championship dreams, and families gathering to witness a milestone in Delta athletics.

This Saturday is more than a ribbon cutting—it’s a moment of renewal, celebration, and community spirit.
