Stockton families can look forward to a full day of entertainment, activities, and literacy fun when the 28th Annual Family Day at the Park takes over Weber Point on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free community event, presented by the Library and Literacy Foundation of San Joaquin County and The Record, will feature more than 80 local businesses and organizations hosting interactive projects. Kids can enjoy arts and crafts, games, storytelling, and recreational activities — plus special story times with superheroes and princesses from University of the Pacific.
Entertainment will be nonstop, with performances from street artists, mascots, Sparkles the Clown, Ravioli the Magician, and live music all day by the Cesar Chavez High School Music Department. The beloved mascot parade kicks off at 10:15 a.m., inviting children and families to join in.
Book lovers won’t want to miss King Author’s Court, where children’s authors and illustrators will read stories, sign books, and answer questions. The Library and Literacy Foundation will also be giving away free books throughout the day.
Weber Point is located at Center Street and Miner Avenue in downtown Stockton. More information is available at familydayatthepark.com.
