Get ready, Stockton! The city is about to turn up the volume on generosity and fun as St. Mary’s Community Services (SMCS) and the Animal Protection League (APL) join forces for a one-of-a-kind fundraising event — Dueling Pianos Bingo — happening Friday, November 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Stockton Ballroom.

It’s music. It’s laughter. It’s community spirit in perfect harmony!

This high-energy night blends the excitement of a live dueling pianos performance with the playful thrill of bingo. Guests can sing along to their favorite tunes, cheer for their bingo cards, and soak up the contagious energy of an event that promises to be every bit as entertaining as it is meaningful.

Best of all — every note and every number called supports a cause that hits close to home. Proceeds will fund kennels for homeless clients with pets and provide vital veterinary services through APL’s compassionate outreach programs.

Music with a Mission

“When APL came to us about this partnership, we immediately said yes,” said Krista Fiser, CEO of St. Mary’s Community Services. “We recognize that people experiencing homelessness face many barriers. If we can help remove the pet barrier, it brings them one step closer to self-sustainability.”

For many unhoused individuals, their pets are family — offering love, comfort, and safety through difficult times. Studies show that 34% of people experiencing homelessness have pets, and nearly half care for two or more. This event helps ensure those beloved companions stay healthy, safe, and by their owners’ side.

APL Executive Director Jolene Medeiros added, “Spaying and neutering helps reduce the number of unwanted animals and keeps pets healthier and happier. For homeless animals, these services make all the difference — they help reduce suffering and save lives.”

Together, SMCS and APL are proving that compassion and creativity make the perfect duet — building hope one note, one kennel, one paw at a time.
